Mrs. Sandra Gladden

Professional History:
Mrs. Gladden began her professional career at Aetna Life and Casualty.  After owning and managing a bookstore while raising her  family, she began her career in education as a high school Spanish teacher.  After several years, she transitioned to middle school French and Spanish.

Extracurricular Activities:
Mrs. Gladden enjoys spending time with her family.

Mrs. Sara Prattson

Professional History:
Mrs. Prattson began teaching Spanish at Rockville High School in 2005. She joined the Vernon Center Middle School Staff in 2015.  

Extracurricular Activities:
Mrs. Prattson enjoys reading, going to sporting events (especially hockey and basketball), and spending time with family and friends.

Miss Gina Rinaldi

Course Expectations:
7th/8th Gr. Spanish

Professional History:
Ms. Rinaldi began her career her junior year of college as a tutor corps coordinator at New Britain High school where she used her Spanish speaking skills to assist ESL students in academic guidance towards CAPT testing.  She then graduated and began teaching 7th grade Spanish at Vernon Center Middle School.  Throughout the years, Ms.Rinaldi has taught both 7th and 8th grade Spanish.  She also played an avid role as a coordinator and tutor in the 21st Century Learning Center.  She taught conversation Spanish to adults for many years at Rockville High school in their continuing education program, as she designed and implemented their curriculum..   She  spent her summers teaching summer school at Rockville high school as well as taught Spanish I,II,II and AP courses in summer programs at Capital Preparatory Magnet School in Hartford, CT and Capital Community College. She also wrote curriculum and created speaking prompts for the Spanish 7-12 department in Vernon.

Extracurricular Activities:
Ms Rinaldi played sports throughout her entire high school and college career, focusing on soccer and track.  She still finds fitness to be an important part of her life.  She enjoys working out daily, which includes cross fit,  yoga, running and weight lifting.  She has played on several coed soccer leagues throughout the years. She coached varsity soccer for 6 years at Rockville high school, as well as coached cross country, cheerleading and drill team at VCMS over the years.

Mrs. Gabriela Zorca

Course Expectations:

Current Position: 7th and 8th grade, French/Spanish
Years Teaching: 26  years

B.S. WL Education from the University of Bucharest, Romania

M.A. in Education from the  University of Connecticut

Professional History:

Mrs. Zorca began her career teaching English and French in Romania.  She continued teaching French in Portland, Connecticut between 1995-1999 and transferred to Vernon Center Middle School in 1999 teaching Spanish and French to 7th and 8th graders. She offers after school extra help and enrichment to students who can join her Thursday Study Group.

Extracurricular Activities:
Mrs. Zorca speaks four languages  and continues to travel extensively.    She plays tennis and enjoys working out.
